This person will oversee complex tax engagements for wealthy individuals, families, and related entities (individual, trusts, estates, gift, partnerships) and must have previous HNW experience in review & compliance, tax planning & advisory, client management, supervision & mentoring, and practice development. Applicants who are located in the NY/NJ area highly preferred though applicants outside of these states (U.S. only) are still encouraged to apply. Oversee tax engagements from planning to delivery, ensuring tasks and projects meet deadlines and client expectations Acquire a deep understanding of clients' industries and businesses Prepare, review, and manage staff deliverables including tax returns, extensions, tax planning calculations, and write-up work for all entity types (C-Corp, S-Corp, Partnership, multi-state, etc.) Prepare and review complex tax planning projections for individuals and entities Manage and monitor client deliverables and due dates Prepare and review complex U.S. and multi-state/international income tax returns for business entities, including consolidated and nonconsolidated C-corporations, S-Corporations, and Partnerships Conduct complex tax research and prepare memorandum outlining findings and conclusions Communicate with and respond to the IRS and state agencies on behalf of clients in connection with audits, inquiries, and tax notices Delegate projects to staff that can handle them most efficiently and provide accounting and tax assistance to staff as needed Communicate directly with existing clients, colleagues, management, and IRS representatives regarding various tax matters Assist with business development efforts, including but not limited to, meeting with prospective and existing clients, preparing fee quotes and proposals, and evaluating clients' needs Lead in knowledge of software, processes, and workflows Assist with employee training for new hires and ongoing employee training and career guidance Engage in consulting with and completing special projects as requested by/for Management and Clients Take direction from and report to the Partners of the tax department Salary range for this position: $120K-160K Qualifications CPA or EA Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting 5-7+ years of experience in public accounting with exposure to individual, corporate and partnership taxation The above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job.
