Job Description
Tax Senior Manager or Tax Director to join a growing tax practice. This is an opportunity for a seasoned tax professional to serve as a trusted advisor to clients, lead complex tax engagements, mentor team members, and contribute to the continued growth and strategic direction of the firm. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with closely held businesses, pass-through entities, high-net-worth individuals, estates, trusts, and multi-state tax matters and who is interested in long-term leadership and firm growth. About the Role The Tax Senior Manager / Tax Director will oversee complex tax engagements, provide proactive planning and advisory services, and serve as a primary relationship manager for key clients. The successful candidate will combine strong technical tax expertise with leadership, judgment, responsiveness, and a client-service mindset. What Youll Do Technical & Client Service Review and approve complex tax returns including partnerships, S corporations, high-net-worth individuals Provide proactive tax planning and advisory services. Represent clients in IRS and state tax examinations. Ensure engagements are completed timely, accurately, within budget, and in compliance with federal and state tax regulations. Identify tax-saving opportunities and provide strategic recommendations. Build and maintain strong client relationships. Analyze and adjust business financial statements in connection with tax return engagements. Leadership & Firm Development Serve as primary relationship manager for key clients. Mentor and develop staff and managers. Provide technical guidance to team members. Participate in process improvement and technology initiatives. Contribute to firm leadership, strategic planning, and long-term growth. Business Development Expand existing client relationships. Identify opportunities to deepen engagements. Participate in networking and firm growth initiatives. Exercise professional judgment to help ensure prospective clients are a good fit for the firm. What Were Looking For Bachelors degree in Accounting; Masters in Taxation preferred. Active CPA license. 8 12+ years of public accounting tax experience. Strong experience with pass-through entities, complex individuals, estates, and trusts. Experience reviewing complex tax returns and managing client relationships. Strong background in analyzing and adjusting business financial statements. Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills. Ability to mentor, train, and develop team members. Collaborative and proactive approach, with flexibility to adjust in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to leverage technology and adapt to industry changes.
