Job Description
Tax Manager Distinct Recruitment - 4.5 Columbus, OH Job Details Full-time $120,000 - $150,000 a year 1 hour ago Qualifications Public accounting Resolving tax liens Manager experience Accounting firm experience Tax advisory Addressing tax levies Full Job Description Tax Manager | Columbus, Ohio | Hybrid You don't often come across a small firm that's turning work away. Not because business has slowed down, but because they've got more clients than they have experienced people to look after them. That's where this opportunity comes in. This Columbus firm has been around for over 80 years. They've built a loyal client base, mostly across real estate, construction and family offices, and for a smaller team, the clients are much larger than you'd expect. They're now looking for an experienced tax professional who can step into the team and make an impact from day one. What makes it worth a look? It's a small office, so you'll never feel like just another name on an org chart. You'll work directly with clients, prepare and review tax work, and have the backing of a team that's been together for years. The firm mainly focuses on tax, with some compilation and review work, so they're looking for someone who has a solid grounding in public accounting rather than someone who's only ever specialised in one area. One of the senior partners is also nearing retirement, which naturally creates opportunity for someone who wants to take on more responsibility over time. Equally, if you're simply looking for a good firm where you can do good work without worrying about climbing the ladder, that's absolutely fine too. If you're looking for somewhere stable, with interesting clients and room to grow naturally as the firm evolves, it's well worth a conversation. Here is the truth about applications. Many people treat them like a checklist where missing one item means instant rejection. That is not how this works. If this role interests you, apply. The apply button is not a commitment, it is the start of a conversation. Prefer a chat? Call me at 412-991-2084. I start at 6am EST, so mornings work. After 5pm EST is fine too, though I may be slightly less lively. Think you meet most but not all of the requirements? Apply anyway. The firms we work with want capable, interesting people, not cookie-cutter accountants. Do not overthink it. The worst outcome is a friendly conversation about your career. The best outcome is where it gets exciting.
