Job Description
Tax Manager | West Palm Beach | Hybrid If you're coming from a larger firm and wondering whether a smaller CPA firm could actually give you a better life, this is a good example of one that does. I've helped two people join this team over the past year, both from larger firms, and the feedback has been very positive. More trust, better support, more flexibility and a team they've settled into quickly. The firm has been around since the 1980s, has very low staff turnover and a Partner group that takes the whole "family comes first" thing seriously. One Partner summed it up perfectly: "Family comes first. Always." For a Tax Manager, that means you can still have responsibility, client ownership and people relying on you without being expected to live at your desk. Busy season doesn't properly ramp up until March and generally peaks at around 50 to 55 hours for a few weeks. Hybrid working is available, the Partners are approachable, and once they know you can do the job, there's plenty of trust around how you manage your time. The work is broad too. The firm has a meaningful Non Profit client base, so you'll need to be comfortable reviewing 990s alongside broader tax work including 1040, 1041 and 1065. You'll also support junior team members and work closely with the Partners on more complex matters. You also won't be buried under layers of hierarchy. You'll have direct access to the Partners, a voice in how work is handled and the chance to become an important part of a team that's continuing to grow. Partner is on the table for the right person too. The package includes competitive compensation, 401(k) match, health, dental and vision insurance, summer and Christmas discretionary bonuses, plus hybrid flexibility. CPA or EA is preferred, alongside strong recent Public Accounting tax experience and review experience. Form 990 experience is important. If you're looking for a firm where people stay because they like the people, the culture and the way they're treated, this is worth a conversation. Apply today, connect with Ellie Butler at Distinct North America on LinkedIn, or call 786 937 0959 for a confidential chat. Flexible start date for post 9.15/10.15.
