Tax Manager - Public AccountingStep into a high-visibility leadership role at an established accounting and advisory practice where you will own complex client portfolios, shape tax strategy across entity types, and sit at the table with firm partners from day one.

What you'll doReview and sign off on complex federal and state tax returns across corporate, partnership, fiduciary, trust, gift, and high-net-worth individual engagementsOwn client relationships end-to-end, delivering proactive year-round tax planning that goes well beyond annual complianceRespond to and resolve IRS and state tax authority notices, representing client interests with confidenceConduct technical tax research and document well-supported conclusions that guide both clients and internal teamsLead, mentor, and evaluate engagement teams of supervisors, senior associates, and staff - giving feedback that accelerates careersPartner with firm leadership on business development proposals and targeted relationship expansionMonitor engagement timelines, budgets, and workflow capacity to keep every project on trackWhat you need7+ years of progressive tax experience in a public accounting firmActive CPA licenseDemonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent client engagements independentlyWorking proficiency with paperless tax workflows and platforms such as CCH ProSystem fx Engagement, QuickBooks, and ExcelNice to haveExperience supervising multi-level teams (supervisors, seniors, staff)Background in strategic tax advisory beyond complianceInterest in community networking and firm business development eventsPay & benefitsBase salary: $120,000-$160,000 per year, commensurate with experienceComprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) with firm contributionsGenerous PTO, paid firm holidays, and seasonal schedule flexibilityFirm-sponsored CPE, professional membership fees, and structured advancement pathwaysLocation & schedule
