Job Description

We are looking for an experienced tax leader to guide a public accounting tax practice in Texas. This position offers the opportunity to oversee daily tax operations, shape departmental priorities, and contribute to broader business decisions as part of the leadership team. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise across corporate and partnership taxation along with a proven background managing teams in a public tax environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Direct the day-to-day execution of the tax department, ensuring client engagements are delivered accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Provide leadership to the tax team by setting priorities, reviewing work, and supporting ongoing development across the department.
  • Establish strategic goals for the tax function and recommend process improvements, policies, and operating standards that strengthen service delivery.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of complex tax filings, including corporate, partnership, federal, and consolidated returns.
  • Manage tax compliance and income tax provision activities while maintaining alignment with current regulatory requirements and quality standards.
  • Advise clients and internal stakeholders on tax planning opportunities, risk considerations, and practical solutions for complex tax matters.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on departmental performance, resource planning, and initiatives that support firm growth.
  • Serve as a senior technical resource for income tax accounting matters and other advanced tax issues affecting client engagements.
