Senior Tax Preparer (Seasonal - January through April 2027) Whitnah CPA Roswell, GA Job Details Temporary | Part-time | Full-time $40 an hour 2 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications CPA Serving clients Spreadsheets Bachelor's degree State tax return preparation Enrolled Agent Accounting Tax experience Full Job Description Whitnah CPA is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Preparer to join our team for the 2027 tax season (January-April 2027) . This is a part-time, in-office position for an experienced tax professional who can prepare and electronically file tax returns independently with minimal supervision. If you enjoy working directly with clients, solving tax issues, and preparing high-quality returns in a professional CPA firm, we'd love to hear from you. Responsibilities Prepare and electronically file federal and state tax returns Prepare Forms 1040, 1065, 1120-S, 1120, 1041, 709, and related tax filings Review client documents and identify missing information Communicate directly with clients regarding tax questions and document requests Respond to IRS and state tax notices when needed Perform tax research on routine tax matters Maintain organized electronic workpapers Meet filing deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality Work independently while collaborating with the CPA when needed Required Qualifications Active PTIN Minimum 5 years of recent tax preparation experience Experience preparing individual and business tax returns Ability to prepare tax returns independently with minimal supervision Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations Excellent communication and client service skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Proficiency with Microsoft Excel CPA or Enrolled Agent license is a bonus Ability to work a flexible schedule Preferred Qualifications Experience using Drake/Lacerte Tax Software (strongly preferred) Previous experience in a CPA firm Experience with multi-state tax returns Experience with Forms 1040, 1065, 1120-S, 1120, 1041, 709. Experience responding to IRS notices CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation is preferred Interview Process Qualified candidates will be asked to complete: A practical tax preparation assessment A brief technical interview Professional reference verification Why Join Whitnah CPA?
