: Company Description C & A Tax Service is a local tax and financial services provider serving individuals and small businesses in and around Taylorville, Sherman, and Auburn, IL. The firm focuses on delivering accurate, timely, and compliant tax preparation services tailored to each client's needs. C & A Tax Service values clear communication, attention to detail, and strong client relationships throughout the tax season. Team members work closely with clients to simplify complex tax matters and help them make informed financial decisions. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Seasonal Tax Preparer role based in Taylorville, Sherman, or Auburn, IL. The Seasonal Tax Preparer will meet with clients, gather and review financial information, and prepare federal and state individual and small business tax returns. Responsibilities include verifying documentation, applying current tax laws and regulations, identifying eligible deductions and credits, and ensuring returns are accurate and filed on time. The role involves explaining tax outcomes to clients in clear, accessible language, maintaining organized records, and collaborating with team members during peak tax season. The Seasonal Tax Preparer will also support general office tasks related to client intake, scheduling, and follow-up communications. Qualifications Familiarity with finance and financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets, to interpret and use client financial data. Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain complex information in straightforward terms. Ability to work on-site throughout the tax season, manage multiple client files, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in tax preparation, accounting, or a related field is preferred but is not required.
