Job Description

  • This position willbe responsible for the preparation of individual and business tax returns and maintaining associated client records.
  • This is a small, fast paced office environment offering a casual work setting and flexible hours based out of our Scarborough, Maine location.
  • This position can be a regular part time position with the opportunity for increased hours during the months of January through May and increasingly flexible hours, during the summer months or a seasonal position.
  • Benefits include bonus opportunities.
RESPONSBILITIES INCLUDE
  • Prior experience preparing individual and corporate tax returns.
  • Understanding of federal and Maine state tax laws (multi-state exposure is a plus).
  • Competency with reconciling client accounting records with high degree of accuracy in various accounting software including QuickBooks (online and desktop versions) and Excel for preparation of tax filing.
  • Understanding of payroll regulation and related liability reporting.
  • Preparation of Form 1099's and W-2's, sales, and payroll tax filings.
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to internal and external parties
  • Detailed and organized management of client records and the office environment.
  • Regular interaction with staff and clients.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum 2-years' experience with direct tax return preparation with the public.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks, both online and desktop versions.
Pay:
$28.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
