With a team of approximately 25-30 professionals, we combine the technical expertise of a larger firm with the close-knit, collaborative culture of a boutique practice. We are seeking an Seasonal Tax Reviewer to join our team for the 2027 tax season.
Responsibilities:
- Review simple to complex tax returns for individuals and small businesses, including S corporations, partnerships, corporations, and multi-state returns.
- Review workpapers and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Identify potential tax issues, missing information, deductions, credits, and planning opportunities.
- Research federal and state tax issues as needed.
- Provide clear review comments and work collaboratively with tax preparers to resolve review points.
- Assist with tax return preparation as needed during peak workload periods.
- Manage multiple engagements and deadlines in a high-volume tax-season environment.
Requirements Preferred:
- 3+ years of recent public accounting tax experience, including tax return review experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of individual, S corporation, partnership, and corporate taxation.
- Ability to independently review tax returns and identify technical and reporting issues.
- Experience with multi-state taxation preferred.
- UltraTax experience strongly preferred; SurePrep experience preferred.
- Strong tax research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with partners, reviewers, and tax preparation staff.
- Proven ability to handle a high-volume workload at a high level of efficiency.
- High proficiency with accounting and office software applications.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- CPA or EA preferred, but not required.
Seasonal Schedule:
February 1, 2027 through April 15, 2027. Full-time hours with additional hours potentially available during peak periods.
Compensation:
$60-$75 per hour for a 1099 contractor, depending on experience.
