Known for delivering exceptional client service and tailored tax solutions, the firm is experiencing continued growth and is seeking a detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join their collaborative team. Salary/Hourly Rate $30/hr - $45/hr Position Overview The Tax Preparer will be responsible for preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations. This position offers a hybrid work schedule and the opportunity to work alongside experienced tax professionals in a fast-paced and client-focused environment. Responsibilities Of The Tax Preparer Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns accurately and timely. Gather, organize, and analyze client financial information and supporting documentation. Perform tax research and apply current tax laws and regulations. Identify tax-saving opportunities and provide recommendations to clients. Review completed tax returns for accuracy and completeness. Communicate directly with clients to obtain required information and resolve discrepancies. Assist with responding to IRS and state tax notices when necessary. Maintain detailed and organized client files and records. Support tax planning initiatives and special projects as assigned. Ensure strict confidentiality of sensitive client information. Required Experience/Skills For The Tax Preparer 2+ years of tax preparation experience in a public accounting firm, tax practice, or similar environment. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations. Experience preparing individual and business tax returns. Proficiency with tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet filing deadlines. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Experience/Skills For The Tax Preparer Experience with multi-state tax filings. Knowledge of tax planning strategies and compliance procedures. Familiarity with QuickBooks and accounting software platforms. Prior experience working with high-net-worth individuals and small businesses. Enrolled Agent (EA) designation or progress toward obtaining certification. Education Requirements Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field is preferred.
