Tax Manager Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Tax Preparer with a minimum of 5 years of professional tax preparation experience . This is not an entry-level position. The ideal candidate must be able to prepare individual and business tax returns with limited supervision and understand the accounting behind the returns being prepared. Responsibilities Prepare federal and state individual tax returns. Prepare Form 1040 individual returns . Prepare Form 1040 Schedule C returns . Prepare Form 1120 corporate returns . Prepare Form 1065 Partnership returns. Prepare Form 1120-S S corporation returns . Prepare other business returns based on experience. Review client financial statements and QuickBooks records for tax preparation. Identify missing or inconsistent information before completing returns. Review prior-year returns and carryforward information. Prepare depreciation and fixed-asset schedules. Reconcile income, expenses, payroll, and other tax-related accounts when necessary in the books to prepare for the return. Communicate with clients regarding missing information and tax questions. Maintain accurate tax return workpapers and documentation. Complete returns accurately and within firm deadlines. Research tax issues when necessary. Assist with extensions and amended returns. Assist with IRS and state notices as assigned. Maintain strict confidentiality of client tax and financial information. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of professional tax preparation experience —

Strong experience preparing Form 1040 returns —
REQUIRED.
Strong experience with Schedule C businesses —
REQUIRED.
Experience preparing Form 1120 and corporate tax returns —
REQUIRED.
Experience preparing S corporation returns preferred. QuickBooks Online experience —
REQUIRED.
Strong understanding of financial statements, general ledgers, and business accounting. Ability to prepare returns with limited supervision. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tax returns and deadlines during tax season. Excellent written and verbal client communication skills. Current PTIN or ability to obtain/renew one. Preferred Qualifications ProSeries Tax experience strongly preferred. Drake Tax experience strongly preferred. Experience with multi-state returns is a plus. Bookkeeping or accounting experience is a plus. Experience working in a CPA, tax, or bookkeeping firm is strongly preferred. Bilingual/Spanish is a plus. Ideal Candidate We are looking for an experienced preparer who can be given a client file and confidently work through the return without needing step-by-step tax preparation training. The ideal candidate is accurate, dependable, organized, productive, comfortable working with a team, and able to recognize when something does not look right before completing a return. •This is an experienced-level position. Applicants without at least 5 years of tax preparation experience will not be considered. Must be legal to work in the United States. •
Pay:
$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
