Steer CPA Virginia Beach, VA Job Details Full-time $25 - $27 an hour 23 hours ago Benefits Health insurance 401(k) Qualifications Phone communication Service scheduling In-person customer service Filing Meeting scheduling Financial records management Attention to detail Financial record maintenance QuickBooks Organizational skills Accounting and finance experience Office phone management Journal entry management in accounting Full Job Description Job Summary The Tax Assistant supports the firm's yearend tax and bookkeeping engagements by organizing client documentation, coordinating client intake, maintaining vehicle and asset records in QuickBooks, and assisting the CPAs with bookkeeping review to ensure client files are complete and accurate prior to tax return preparation. Responsibilities Assemble and maintain client binders for year end business and individual clients with multiple real estate properties, ensuring all supporting documents are organized and current. Ensure client data entered into QuickBooks is accurate. Schedule and meet with tax clients as needed and point of contact. Assist in the preparation of individual, corporate, and estate tax returns. Support tax reporting processes by compiling financial data, analyzing discrepancies, and preparing detailed reports for review. Communicate effectively with clients regarding tax-related inquiries. Requirements Prior experience in bookkeeping, tax preparation support, or similar accounting roles. Working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop, Journal Entries and basic reconciliation. Strong organizational skills with close attention to detail Comfortable managing client-facing communication including scheduling and phone correspondence.
