Job Description

The successful MSR I (Teller) is an enthusiastic employee who is responsible for providing outstanding service to CU members and is willing to greet them, listen to them and find solutions to their financial needs. A MSR I will be able to handle basic teller duties and ensures that members are promptly and professionally served. This position requires the willingness and ability to build member relationships by actively uncovering needs and suggesting credit union products and services. This is a full-time position offering benefits and generous Paid Time Off available immediately upon hire. The MSR I candidate will also be on a development path to further their Credit Union career to the next level, MSR II, which will provide opportunities for learning and greater earning potential.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Represents the Credit Union in a courteous and professional manner. Operates on-line teller terminal to perform various transactions; cash handling such as deposits and withdrawals, depositing/cashing checks and making loan payments. Processes cash advances, cashiers' checks, money orders, government bonds, and similar transactions. Opens and closes accounts daily. Processes assigned cash and transactions and balances at end of day. Verifies transactions. Monitors deposit amounts and examines documents for endorsement and negotiability. Detects and resolves discrepancies promptly. Ensures that members' requests and questions are promptly resolved. Performs research as needed. Is familiar with all of the Credit Union's products and services. Actively suggests products/services of the Credit Union or refers members to appropriate departments to help meet members' financial needs. Maintains confidentiality and security of member account information. Maintains security of assigned cash and cash items. Performs drive-up teller and night drop functions as assigned.
