What began as an open-air market and auction in Ontario has grown to include thriving markets in Ontario, Victorville, and Indio. We are seeking a Controller to serve as the Company's financial leader. This individual will maintain the highest standards of financial integrity, internal controls, and regulatory compliance while providing trusted financial guidance to ownership and executive management. Key Responsibilities Oversee the Company's accounting and financial reporting functions. Prepare accurate monthly and annual financial statements. Maintain and continually improve accounting procedures and internal controls. Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and applicable federal, state, and local requirements. Supervise, develop, and support accounting personnel and site managers. Oversee payroll administration using ADP Workforce Now and ensure compliance with applicable employment and payroll laws. Prepare and file sales and use tax returns. Coordinate with the Company's outside CPA firm and other financial professionals. Support matters involving S corporation taxation and owner distributions. Coordinate the Company's annual insurance requirements, working with insurance brokers and carriers. Oversee fixed-asset accounting and reporting. Maintain appropriate financial and inventory controls for the Company's bar operations. Communicate financial information clearly and effectively to ownership and outside advisors. Demonstrate ethical leadership, sound business judgment, and the highest level of confidentiality. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university. CPA license a plus; newly licensed CPA's welcome. Progressive accounting experience demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility and professional advancement. Previous experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or in a comparable accounting leadership position. Proven experience supervising and developing accounting personnel. Experience with Sage accounting software or a similar accounting platform. Experience with ADP Workforce Now a plus. Microsoft Excel skills, including financial analysis, formulas, and spreadsheet development. Experience with Fixed Assets systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience in a privately held or family-owned business a plus. Familiarity with S corporation taxation and owner distributions. Compensation and Benefits Annual salary of $120,000-$140,000.
