Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead accounting and financial operations in Orange, California. This role will guide financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls while helping leadership make informed business decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical judgment, a disciplined approach to accuracy, and the ability to strengthen processes across the finance function.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and alignment with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Direct the budgeting and forecasting cycle, monitoring performance against financial plans and providing insights on variances and trends.
- Establish, maintain, and improve internal control procedures that protect assets and support reliable financial reporting.
- Oversee tax filings and broader regulatory compliance activities to ensure adherence to applicable financial and reporting requirements.
- Manage the day-to-day work of the accounting team, including hiring, coaching, performance oversight, and ongoing development.
- Partner with external auditors by organizing required documentation, coordinating audit activities, and addressing follow-up items promptly.
- Evaluate accounting workflows and introduce process enhancements, tools, or procedural updates that improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain organized financial documentation and support effective record management practices across accounting operations.
