Controller

Job Title - Controller Location - Rancho Cordova, CA Company Overview We are a growing construction supply company generating approximately $18 million in annual revenue. Position Summary We are seeking a hands-on Controller to lead all accounting and financial operations of the company. This role will oversee day-to-day accounting functions, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, and provide practical financial insight to support business decisions. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations including A/P, A/R, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements
• Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
• Oversee inventory accounting and cost of goods sold
• Oversee inventory valuation, inventory controls, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliation
• Manage sales tax reporting and compliance requirements
• Monitor cash flow, forecasting, and banking relationships
• Support budgeting and financial planning processes
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations
• Coordinate with external CPA for tax preparation and year-end reporting
• Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to ownership Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role
• Experience in construction, distribution, or inventory-based businesses strongly preferred

Required:

Strong experience with QuickBooks (Desktop and/or Online)

Required:

Must have inventory management and inventory accounting experience

Required:

Experience with sales tax reporting, compliance, and multi-jurisdiction filings

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Advanced Excel skills
