CFO About the Role A large electrical Distributor is seeking a strategic, hands-on Senior Controller to lead and strengthen the company's accounting and financial operations during a period of continued growth and operational expansion. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for overseeing financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, cash flow management, and accounting operations across a multi-location distribution environment. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with operational business acumen and the ability to partner closely with executive leadership. We are looking for someone who can build scalable financial processes, improve reporting visibility, drive accountability, and support data-driven decision-making throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting and financial reporting functions across the organization
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with accuracy and timeliness
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial planning activities
- Develop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance procedures
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, KPIs, and operational performance reports
- Partner with executive leadership on strategic planning, growth initiatives, and profitability analysis
- Oversee general ledger, payroll, fixed assets, and inventory accounting functions
- Track aging and slow-moving inventory, and monitory Days Inventory Outstanding
- Support operational leaders with financial insights tied to inventory, purchasing, and branch performance
- Drive process improvements and automation within ERP and accounting systems
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax professionals, banks, and insurance providers
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and finance team members
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and company policies Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, finance, business administration with 8+ years accounting/finance experience
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license preferred
- Prior Controller or Senior Accounting leadership experience
- Experience within distribution, manufacturing, wholesale, or supply chain-driven businesses strongly preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects and priorities
- High attention to detail
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting, inventory control processes and operational finance
- Proven ability to improve financial processes, controls, and reporting accuracy
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel reporting
