Type:
full-time We're seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting function for a growing manufacturing organization. This role owns the close process, financial reporting, and internal controls, while serving as a strategic partner to plant and executive leadership on cost, margin, and operational performance. This is a strong opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader ready to take ownership of the finance function at a growing organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accuracy and timely financial reporting Prepare and present financial statements to executive leadership and plant/branch management Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting across the organization Review and approve journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations Perform variance/flux analysis and communicate drivers behind results to leadership Oversee cost accounting functions, including standard costs, BOM accuracy, and overhead allocation Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies/procedures Lead and manage external audit engagements and serve as primary point of contact Monitor cash flow and support treasury/banking relationships as needed Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff Partner cross-functionally with operations, procurement, and plant leadership on cost and margin initiatives Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects for executive leadership
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or MBA a plus 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred Strong knowledge of month-end close, GAAP, cost accounting, budgeting, and forecasting Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Epicor, QAD, or similar) Advanced Excel skills Proven leadership and team management experience Strong communication skills with ability to present to executive leadership
