We are seeking an experienced Controller for a long-term contract opportunity in Centerbrook, Connecticut. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader who is comfortable managing day-to-day financial operations, strengthening processes, and ensuring accurate, timely reporting. The Controller will play a key role in overseeing core accounting functions, supporting the month-end and year-end close process, reviewing reconciliations, and helping deliver financial insight to support business decisions. This position requires strong technical accounting knowledge, sound analytical skills, and a proactive approach to maintaining the integrity of financial data. Responsibilities:

Lead monthly and periodic close activities to ensure financial records are completed accurately and on schedule. Prepare and review journal entries while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger. Perform detailed balance sheet and account reconciliations, researching and resolving discrepancies as needed. Produce timely financial reports and support leadership with clear, accurate accounting information. Analyze financial results, identify trends or variances, and provide recommendations based on findings. Apply revenue recognition principles in accordance with ASC 606 and ensure proper accounting treatment. Support compliance with internal controls and established accounting policies throughout day-to-day operations. Proven experience serving in a Controller or senior-level accounting capacity. Strong working knowledge of general ledger management, journal entry preparation, and month-end close activities. Experience completing account reconciliations and resolving accounting variances effectively. Ability to prepare financial reports and interpret results through meaningful financial analysis. Solid understanding of revenue recognition guidance, including ASC 606. High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
