Job Summary The VP Supply Chain Strategy leads the enterprise approach to suppliers, sourcing, inventory policy, and supply risk. This executive builds a common supply chain strategy across Division 8, Division 10, and Division 28 while recognizing the operating needs of each business. The role establishes decision guardrails, develops strategic supplier relationships, improves rebates and commercial terms, and ensures that IOS has credible alternatives for critical materials. Primary Outcomes A coordinated supplier strategy that increases buying leverage across the enterprise. Improved total cost, rebate income, payment terms, and other commercial benefits. Reduced dependence on single sources and stronger continuity plans for critical materials. Clear purchasing, inventory, and supplier performance policies used consistently across the company. A reliable demand and supply outlook that supports growth, working capital decisions, and project execution. Duties/ResponsibilitiesEnterprise Strategy and Governance Develop and maintain the enterprise supply chain strategy across Division 8, Division 10, and Division 28. Define purchasing authority, approval thresholds, supplier selection standards, and escalation rules. Set enterprise policies for managed product, inventory exposure, quality requirements, and supply risk. Align supply chain priorities with company growth plans, financial targets, and customer commitments. Supplier and Commercial Strategy Segment suppliers by strategic importance, risk, capability, and spend. Lead negotiations for enterprise agreements, rebates, incentives, payment terms, and service commitments. Build executive relationships with key suppliers and lead resolution of material performance or commercial issues. Establish alternative sourcing strategies for critical or constrained products. Approve strategic supplier additions, exits, and exceptions to the sourcing model. Planning and Performance Sponsor an integrated forecasting process that converts backlog, project pipeline, historical demand, and market conditions into supply plans. Set targets for savings, rebates, supplier performance, inventory turns, service levels, and supply continuity. Review consolidated supply chain performance and hold owners accountable for corrective action. Identify structural opportunities to standardize products, combine spend, and improve working capital without weakening customer service. Leadership and Partnership Lead and develop the broader purchasing organization. Partner with operations, finance, sales, estimating, and project management leaders to resolve competing priorities. Create a decision culture that uses data, documents tradeoffs, and escalates exceptions early. Experience and Capabilities Senior leadership experience in supply chain, procurement, sourcing, or materials management in a project based, distribution, manufacturing, or construction environment. Demonstrated success negotiating supplier agreements, rebates, and enterprise commercial terms. Experience managing multiple product categories or operating divisions with different demand patterns. Strong financial judgment, including total cost analysis, working capital, inventory economics, and supplier risk. Ability to influence executives, project leaders, operating teams, and external suppliers without slowing decisions. Preferred background includes door and hardware, electronic security, construction materials, specialty distribution, or related building products. Decision Authority Approves enterprise supplier strategy, preferred supplier status, and strategic sourcing agreements. Approves material exceptions to purchasing policy, commercial thresholds, or supplier concentration limits. Sets inventory policy and financial guardrails in partnership with finance and operations. Escalates commitments outside delegated authority to the COO.
