Job Description:
A successful construction company is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join its West Palm Beach operation as Controller. The organization has reached a level of scale and complexity that provides meaningful exposure to both the financial and operational sides of the business. This opportunity offers the chance to take ownership of a key accounting function, work closely with leadership, and contribute to an organization that continues to grow and evolve. Responsibilities Lead the accounting function, including financial reporting, month-end close, general ledger, controls, and audit support. Provide financial oversight of construction projects, including costs, profitability, forecasts, and other key performance metrics. Partner with leadership on financial planning, analysis, cash flow, and overall business performance. Ensure appropriate accounting practices, documentation, compliance, and controls across the organization. Improve accounting processes, reporting, and financial systems to support an efficient and scalable operation. Provide leadership and direction to the accounting team while serving as a financial resource to the broader business. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Construction industry experience with strong knowledge of project accounting and job costing required. Experience managing month-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting. Strong understanding of internal controls and accounting processes. Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems. Demonstrated experience improving accounting processes or financial systems. CPA preferred. Occasional travel required.
