General Purpose of Job
JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES
This position is responsible for providing financial expertise and advice to senior executives to help align organizational performance with current and future financial needs. This position directs the finance and general accounting operations of the Cooperative and provides accurate accounting for all financial transactions and establishes internal controls. Oversees the monthly closeout activities, preparation of journal entries for the general ledger, preparation of property tax filings, quarterly reports and preparation of monthly and annual financial statements. Oversees the Plant Accounting team and all capital transactions, including General Plant and Leases. Reviews transactions processed through the accounts payable system; authorizes and signs cash disbursements, credit balance, and capital credit checks. Oversees the budget preparation and distribution of e-mails notifying the departments their reports are available in the budgeting software for actual versus budget comparison. Oversees, leads, and manages all FEMA and FDEM grant projects.
