Lead the full finance and accounting function with direct influence on organizational strategy and decision-making. Partner closely with the CFO and executive leadership on financial planning, forecasting, and operational initiatives. Oversee a broad scope including accounting, budgeting, payroll, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit. Drive process improvements and strengthen financial systems, controls, and reporting capabilities. Manage and develop a high-performing finance team while shaping the future direction of the department. Key Responsibilities for the
Controller:
Lead accounting, budgeting, payroll, accounts payable, and financial reporting operations. Oversee the preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), annual audit, and regulatory reporting. Ensure compliance with GAAP, GASB, internal controls, and applicable governmental regulations. Partner with leadership to provide financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic recommendations. Develop and mentor finance staff while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement. Qualifications for the
Controller:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Active CPA designation required. 8+ years of progressive accounting and financial management experience, including ACFR and GASB expertise. 3+ years of leadership experience managing accounting or finance teams; public sector, utility, or governmental experience preferred. #LI-CM4 #
