Job Description
New Way Ford is looking for an experienced Dealership Controller to lead the accounting department in Coon Rapids and Pocahontas, IA. This role is based in Coon Rapids and responsible for financial reporting, cash management, internal controls, and the day-to-day oversight of a team of accounting staff. The right candidate brings dealership accounting expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable information for department managers and ownership. What We Offer Health & Dental benefits: We offer 100% fully paid health & dental insurance plans, covered by New Way Ford! 401(k) retirement plan with company match Paid vacation Employee discounts on vehicle purchases and repairs What You'll Do Prepare and submit complete financial statements to the manufacturer and management within established timeframes Interpret and analyze financial statements, identifying trends and communicating cash needs to the General Manager Manage day-to-day accounting operations to ensure all transactions are recorded in compliance with dealership policies and processes Close the books accurately each month and prepare all required reports and submissions Develop and maintain an effective cash management system and safeguard dealership assets through strong internal controls Oversee a team of accounting staff, holding the department accountable to corporate initiatives and performance standards Support department managers in understanding their financial reports and building action plans to improve operations Work with the General Manager to identify opportunities to grow revenue or reduce expense against budget Respond to requests for information and assistance from internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in accounting required; MBA or CPA preferred Financial system experience preferred Ability to explain technical financial information clearly to non-financial audiences Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proven track record managing accounting teams and driving consistent performance New Way Ford is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
