Controller

We are looking for a Controller to lead financial oversight and performance analysis for a chemicals manufacturing operation in Bensenville, Illinois. This role will partner with leaders across production, supply chain, and commercial functions to guide planning, improve cost visibility, and support sound business decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing finance expertise, a hands-on approach to operational analysis, and the ability to turn financial data into practical recommendations.

Responsibilities:

• Direct the annual budgeting cycle, periodic forecasting activities, and longer-range financial planning efforts to support business goals.
• Create and deliver monthly financial reports and leadership presentations that clearly communicate business performance and key trends.
• Review operating results against plan, forecast, and prior periods, identifying the drivers behind variances and outlining recommended actions.
• Track and refine performance measures tied to margins, labor efficiency, inventory, productivity, and working capital management.
• Work closely with plant, production, and supply chain teams to evaluate manufacturing costs, utilization, scrap, yield, and overhead performance.
• Oversee inventory-related financial analysis, including valuation, accuracy, and level monitoring, while supporting standard costing and cost improvement efforts.
• Assess capital spending proposals, automation opportunities, pricing strategies, and customer profitability to strengthen financial returns.
• Contribute financial modeling, scenario planning, and risk assessment to support strategic initiatives and day-to-day decision-making.
• Support closing activities, strengthen internal controls, and help maintain clear financial policies and procedures across the organization.
• Guide and develop finance or cost accounting team members while encouraging cross-functional collaboration and process improvement initiatives.
