Job Description

Assistant Controller Job Description:
The Assistant Controller supports the Controller in managing the company's accounting and financial operations. Responsibilities include assisting with month-end closing, financial reporting, reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, budgeting, cash management, accrual accounting, revenue recognition and with the key responsibility of maintaining accurate financial records. This position helps ensure strong internal controls, compliance, and efficient accounting processes while providing financial information and support to management. This position is a salary exempt role, and we offer BCBS Health Insurance, Dental Vision Hearing coverage, optional supplemental insurance options. This role also includes PTO, eight paid holidays, and one floating holiday.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with monthly, quarter-end, and year end close process and reporting. Assists with managing accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable. Manage cost accounting, including labor, materials, overhead, and job costing. Oversee inventory accounting for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods. Maintain accurate inventory records and reconcile inventory balances. Manage sales tax reporting, filings, reconciliations, and compliance. Supports the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, reporting variances as needed. Assists in preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements. Supports regulatory reporting and research technical accounting issues for compliance. Help maintain and strengthen internal accounting controls. Support audits and accounting compliance requirements. Provide financial support and information to management. Consistently adhering to the assigned work schedule, including punctuality and reliable attendance. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Comply with all company safety rules and guidelines. Work safely, without presenting a direct threat to self or others. Demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, accuracy, and a positive team attitude. Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting. Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA preferred. Experience with ASC606 Revenue Recognition-Percentage of Completion or Over Time Revenue Recognition. Experience with ODOO or similar ERP system. Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and internal controls. Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills. Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive financial information. Effective communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization. Ability to work independently while supporting the Controller and accounting team.
Pay:
From $80,000.00 per year
