Job Description
Description We are seeking a hands-on Controller to lead the accounting function within a manufacturing environment. This role will manage a small team of 2-3 accounting professionals and be directly involved in day-to-day accounting operations. The Controller will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and the full close process while partnering closely with operations and leadership to support strategic and financial decision-making. Key Responsibilities + Lead and execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness + Prepare and review monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and management reporting + Develop and maintain annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial models + Oversee cost accounting functions including inventory, WIP, standard costing, and variance analysis + Manage and mentor a 2-3 person accounting team, providing hands-on support and leadership + Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies + Partner with operations, supply chain, and executive leadership to drive financial performance + Support external audits, tax filings, and statutory reporting as needed + Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and operating efficiencies within accounting Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CMA preferred) + 5+ years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environment required + Proven experience in cost accounting and inventory management + Prior experience managing or leading a small accounting team + Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and advanced Excel skills + Ability to work hands-on while also providing strategic oversight + Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills Requirements
