About the Role We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Controller to lead the company's accounting and financial reporting functions and provide financial insight to support business growth and operational decision-making. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands both accounting and manufacturing operations and is comfortable working closely with production, operations, and senior management. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with cost accounting, inventory, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls in a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end close Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Lead the month-end and year-end close processes Manage and analyze manufacturing costs, inventory, labor, overhead, and product margins Maintain and improve standard costing systems and analyze actual vs. standard costs Monitor inventory valuation, reserves, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes Prepare and analyze financial and operational reporting, including key performance indicators Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections Partner with operations and production leadership to identify cost savings and improve profitability Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior management Establish and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies Coordinate annual audits, tax filings, banking relationships, and other external financial requirements Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable accounting and regulatory requirements Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, reporting, and efficiency Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff Support the implementation or optimization of ERP and financial systems Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 5+ years of progressive accounting experience , preferably within a manufacturing environment Prior experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager with significant responsibility Strong understanding of manufacturing and cost accounting Experience with inventory accounting, standard costing, variance analysis, and product profitability Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP/accounting systems Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to work collaboratively with both finance and non-finance teams Strong communication skills and the ability to translate financial information into actionable business recommendations Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
