Type:
full-time Chesapeake Search Partners is seeking a Controller to own the accounting function and build a modern finance operation. This position will own the monthly close, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance, and will lead the finance team. This is a high-visibility role reporting directly to the CFO, who will support development into the full scope of the role. The right candidate must have strong accounting fundamentals and personal drive.
Responsibilities:
Own the monthly and annual close and deliver timely, accurate financial statements Maintain general-ledger integrity and the chart of accounts Own the close checklist and balance-sheet reconciliation framework. Prepare the monthly reporting package and variance analysis Own revenue recognition across multiple service and product lines Lead cash-flow forecasting and working-capital management Manage the banking relationship. Track and report lender covenant compliance and debt service. Own multi-state sales/use tax compliance. Maintain the fixed-asset register and depreciation schedules. Support the CFO with the annual budget and periodic reforecasts Supervise, develop, and lead accounting staff.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting. 3+ years of accounting experience Experience supervising a small tea ERP experience preferred; NetSuite a plus. CPA is a plus but not required. Experience with complex deferred revenue. Manufacturing, distribution, or field-service industry experience a plus.
