Corporate Controller Position Summary The Group Controller is a key financial and operational leader responsible for overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, internal controls, and performance management across multiple operating units. Based in Dearborn, Michigan, this position partners closely with executive leadership and site operations, with weekly travel to the Saginaw area and monthly out-of-state travel as needed. The Group Controller will serve as a strategic business partner to management, translating financial and operational data into actionable insights that support profitability, growth, efficiency, and sound business decisions. This role requires a hands-on leader who can work effectively across multiple locations, identify opportunities for improvement, and establish processes and controls that support scalable operations. Principal Responsibilities Lead the consolidation and review of budgets, forecasts, financial results, and key performance information across multiple operational units. Analyze financial and operational results, identify trends and variances, and provide meaningful recommendations to executive and operational leadership. Partner with management and site leadership to establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop reporting, monitoring, and continuous-improvement systems. Identify and recommend opportunities to improve profitability, operational efficiency, organizational performance, divestments, and business expansion. Assist management in the review, evaluation, and financial analysis of business contracts and agreements. Ensure accurate and timely completion of accounting processes, financial reporting, and record keeping in accordance with company policies, accounting principles, and applicable financial standards. Assist in the development, evaluation, and financial modeling of business plans, pro formas, capital investments, and strategic initiatives. Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls designed to protect company assets, ensure financial accuracy, and mitigate business risk. Assist in establishing financial and operational measurement systems for new businesses, locations, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives. Partner with site personnel to implement financial processes, reporting requirements, and best practices; provide training to ensure proper utilization and compliance. Lead cross-functional teams in resolving financial and operational issues, managing projects, removing obstacles, and ensuring appropriate resources are available to achieve objectives. Serve as a financial representative of the organization in interactions with government agencies, vendors, customers, business partners, and other external entities. Provide financial leadership and support to operating locations through regular site visits and ongoing collaboration with local management. Perform special projects, financial studies, analyses, and other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications, Skills & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. Minimum of five years of progressive experience in corporate finance, accounting, financial analysis, controllership, or business analysis. Experience supporting multiple business units, locations, or operational teams strongly preferred. Strong ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership, management, and operations personnel to design and implement financial monitoring and business improvement systems. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other financial reporting, spreadsheet, and database applications. Demonstrated ability to extract, analyze, and interpret data from complex ERP systems. Strong analytical, financial modeling, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strategic thinker with the ability to connect financial results to operational performance and business objectives. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial audiences. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple locations and functions. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. MBA, CPA, or other advanced professional designation is desirable. Travel Requirements Position is based in Dearborn, Michigan . Weekly travel to the Saginaw-area operations is required. Monthly out-of-state travel is required to support business operations, management initiatives, and other company needs. Must be willing and able to travel regularly and work effectively across multiple operating locations.
