Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a Corporate Controller to own the monthly close, controls, and technical accounting across four-entities. This role will not only run a clean multi-entity close, but who can build and manage a centralized shared services accounting function — directing the work, not just approving that it happens. Duties Consolidated Close & Technical Accounting Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated close process across all 4 operating entities Ensure timely, accurate consolidated financial statements and management reporting Standardize chart of accounts, close processes, and reporting cadence across entities with meaningfully different transaction volume and complexity Serve as primary liaison to external auditors and tax advisors on annual audits and filings Personally review and quality-control the shared services team's output before it flows into platform reporting Shared Services & Team Management Directly manage the Shared Services Lead and, through them, the AP/AR/reconciliation team Actively manage the team's performance, quality, and capacity — setting clear workflows, catching errors before they become reporting problems, and scaling the team as volume grows Design and continuously improve job-costing processes appropriate to each entity's actual complexity, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all process across very different businesses Build job-level cost reporting for the operating businesses, partnering with Operations and leveraging ongoing improvements in the field operating system that feed the accounting records Standardize and improve percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting for the platform's project-based entities Build the centralized shared services model, consolidating high-volume, routine transactional processing onto a common platform Controls & Compliance Own internal controls and financial risk management across a distributed, multi-entity structure Support covenant compliance reporting in partnership with the CFO Ensure consistency in accounting policy and controls across all entities, including newly acquired businesses Bring each entity's controls and processes up to a common platform standard, in partnership with entity leadership Team Development Directly manage, coach, and develop the accounting team Build a bench that can scale as the platform adds entities through M&A, without proportional headcount growth Qualifications 8+ years of progressive accounting/controllership experience, including owning the close across multiple entities and leading a distributed accounting team Direct experience in a PE-backed or multi-entity/multi-state operating environment strongly preferred Demonstrated experience building, standardizing, and quality-controlling a remote or multi-site accounting team Comfort working across businesses of meaningfully different complexity and transaction volume within the same reporting structure Strong technical accounting foundation; Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CMA a plus Experience with job costing in a project-based or field services business is a significant plus Hands-on experience producing reliable, job-level financial detail in a non-ERP environment, where an operational or field system feeds the accounting records A proven partner to Operations — able to work hand-in-hand with field and ops leaders to produce clean, usable cost data
