We're seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Controller who thrives in a multi-entity environment and enjoys working directly with ownership to support strategic growth.
Position Overview:
The Controller will oversee all accounting and financial operations across multiple businesses, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of consolidated reporting, intercompany transactions, and the ability to pivot between projects and entities with ease. The ideal candidate is proactive, business-minded, and comfortable in an entrepreneurial setting where priorities evolve quickly.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all accounting functions for multiple entities, including real estate holdings, investment portfolios, and operating businesses. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations. Handle multi-entity consolidations and intercompany accounting. Develop and maintain internal controls, financial policies, and procedures. Collaborate with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy. Support investment tracking, property-level reporting, and project cost accounting. Coordinate with external CPA firm for audits, tax filings, and compliance matters as necessary. Provide timely financial insights to assist executive decision-making.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred). 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including multi-entity or real estate exposure. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation. Proficient in QuickBooks or similar accounting software; Excel expertise required. Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality — comfortable working independently and as part of a small, collaborative team.

Competitive salary commensurate with experience, plus benefits.

This is an in-person role based in our Salem, NH office. The position offers a close-knit, entrepreneurial environment where ideas are valued and initiative is encouraged.
