Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead accounting operations in a hands-on capacity for a diversified organization based in Eatontown, New Jersey. This role oversees financial activities across multiple business lines, including manufacturing and distribution, real estate, and hospitality, while also providing day-to-day leadership to accounting staff. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting knowledge with the ability to guide process discipline, maintain accurate records, and support sound financial decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Direct daily accounting functions across multiple entities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting for manufacturing, distribution, real estate, and hospitality operations.
- Supervise and mentor accounting team members while remaining actively involved in detailed accounting work and issue resolution.
- Manage month-end and year-end close activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and review of supporting documentation.
- Maintain strong internal controls over financial records, document management, and reporting processes to support compliance and audit readiness.
- Coordinate the organization, review, scanning, and retention of accounting records to ensure documentation is complete, accessible, and properly filed.
- Partner with operational leaders to analyze financial results, monitor performance, and provide recommendations that support business objectives.
- Oversee cash management, budgeting support, and financial oversight for a portfolio of related companies.
- Assist with process improvements and accounting workflow updates, including documentation-related procedures and recordkeeping standards.
