Job Description

Our client is looking for an experienced Controller to lead the accounting and financial reporting functions across a diverse portfolio of real estate entities and property management operations. This is a hands-on leadership role for an accounting professional who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and can bring structure, accuracy, and visibility to a multi-entity organization. The Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting while partnering closely with ownership and operational leadership on financial reporting, cash management, property performance, and strategic financial initiatives.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead accounting and financial reporting for multiple real estate entities and property management operationsManage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including consolidations and intercompany activityPrepare and review financial statements, property-level reporting, cash flow analysis, and management reportsOversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliationsMonitor property-level financial performance, operating expenses, and budget-to-actual resultsOversee cash management and forecasting across multiple entities and bank accountsManage accounting related to acquisitions, dispositions, capital expenditures, and real estate investmentsMaintain accurate ownership, intercompany, and entity-level accountingPartner with property management and ownership to improve financial visibility and support business decisionsCoordinate annual tax preparation and compliance with outside CPA and tax advisorsSupport lender reporting, financing activities, and banking relationshipsDevelop and strengthen accounting processes, internal controls, policies, and reporting proceduresLead, mentor, and develop accounting team membersIdentify opportunities to improve systems, automate processes, and increase efficiency
