Job Description
About the Company We are an established, multi-entity construction and service platform operating in Westchester County and surrounding areas. Our companies specialize in high-end residential installations including the fabrication of custom metal and wood automated driveway gates, fencing, railings, pergolas, and decks. We operate multiple fabrication, installation, and service crews across several brands and are entering a structured phase focused on strengthening production systems, margin visibility, and financial discipline to support scalable growth. This role is central to that evolution. The Role We are seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to own financial discipline, job cost integrity, payroll processing, accounts receivable management, and internal financial controls across the organization. The standard schedule for this role is Monday through Friday, 7:30am-5:00pm to align closely with production and leadership teams. This is a fully on-site position to support direct collaboration with operations and ownership. You will work directly with senior leadership and the Operations Manager to ensure production data, job costing, and financial reporting are aligned and accurate. Core Responsibilities Own full-cycle accounting and establish monthly close discipline Process weekly payroll and reconcile labor against job coding Manage structured accounts receivable and collections process Ensure documentation standards are met prior to invoicing Maintain accurate job cost data within ERP systems Participate in weekly production review meetings Build and maintain job-level margin visibility Provide vendor spend analysis to support cost control Review commission calculations and margin impact Support leadership with monthly financial reporting and analysis Identify financial risk and escalate appropriately What Success Looks Like Within 90 days: Clean visibility into AR aging and payroll reconciliation Documentation standards consistently applied Job cost data aligned with production tracking Monthly close process operating on a defined cadence Within 6-12 months: Reliable job-level margin reporting Improved cash flow predictability Strengthened internal financial controls Structured financial review cadence established with leadership Qualifications 5+ years of Controller or senior accounting experience Experience in project-based, construction, or operational accounting strongly preferred Strong understanding of job costing and margin analysis Experience managing payroll and AR processes Experience working within ERP systems Proven ability to implement structured processes Strong communication skills and comfort operating in a hands-on environment Ideal Candidate Calm, structured, and methodical Financially disciplined and detail-oriented Comfortable holding teams accountable professionally Data-driven and operationally aware Direct and transparent communicator Interested in building long-term financial structure This role offers the opportunity to build financial discipline within an established and growing construction platform committed to operational excellence and long-term stability.
