Full Job Description Overview:
Calspan is seeking a strategic and results-driven Director, Finance Systems & Business Processes to lead the development, optimization, and continuous improvement of the financial systems and business processes that support our diverse business operations. This role is responsible for implementing, managing, enhancing, and supporting core business applications, while ensuring efficient, scalable, and data-driven processes across the organization. The Senior Director will partner closely with finance and operational leaders to leverage technology, improve business performance, and drive enterprise-wide process excellence. The ideal candidate brings a blend of financial expertise, systems leadership, and business acumen, with proven experience managing ERP platforms, leading cross-functional initiatives, and delivering organizational transformation in a complex, multi-business environment. This position plays a critical role in aligning technology, financial operations, and business strategy to enable Calspan's continued growth and operational success.
Responsibilities:
Management:
Manage in alignment with our Company Values. Lead with the intent to create a respectful and healthy work culture that embraces inclusion. Manage administrative responsibilities and assume full responsibility for accomplishments of department functions.
ERP:
Manage the development, implementation, maintenance and administration of the company's ERP system. Establish and implement best practices for financial systems use and ensure are applied throughout the company. Partner with functional leadership on implementation of super user strategy and capabilities for long-term sustainment and continuous improvement of core business processes.
Business Process & Mapping:
Partner with key business leaders/customers to identify and evaluate key drivers to accelerate organization performance. Drive improvements and optimize business processes and workflows.
Business Analysis:
Perform company-wide financial and business analysis. Partner with functional leaders to drive results by understanding key business drivers, developing robust budgeting and forecasting tools, modeling implications of various actions, extracting insights and recommending and driving appropriate actions.
Support Month-end close:
Provide support for financial reporting and analysis. Assist with testing and receive final approval for system reports required for management, financial reporting and general ledger reconciliations. Maintain process and procedure documentation for finance. Ensure accurate and timely subperiod, month-end and year-end close as well as timely completion of assigned year-end audit engagement schedules.
Qualifications:
Preferred Education /
Experience:
BS/BA/MS
Finance, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Process Management or related discipline, or equivalent experience. MBA preferred 12+ years in related discipline A combination of education and experience equivalent to above. Preferred Knowledge /
Ability:
Significant experience with large-scale ERP implementations in dynamic high growth multi business unit environment. Strong financial acumen and ability to demonstrate understanding of financial systems and processes. Able to build, communicate, and effectively manage a budget and business plan. Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work consistently and efficiently to achieve organizational goals. Excellent ability to multi-task and manage simultaneous projects and initiatives. Strong planning, organization, critical thinking, decision-making skills and problem-solving aptitude.
