full-time Assistant Controller Hauppauge, NY | On-Site | $120K-$140K Ready for a role where you can grow into the Controller seat? This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and expanding manufacturing organization with significant growth ahead. You'll step into a highly visible position where you can lead, make improvements, have a voice in how the accounting function operates, and make a measurable impact on the business. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants more than just another Assistant Controller title. You'll work closely with leadership, lead and develop the accounting team , take ownership of key accounting functions, and help improve processes as the organization continues to grow. There is a ton of opportunity for advancement, with the potential for this role to ultimately develop into a Controller position.

Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day accounting operations across AP, AR and the General Ledger Lead, mentor and develop members of the accounting team Take ownership of month-end and year-end close Ensure financial transactions and reporting are accurate, complete and timely Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements Analyze financial performance and investigate variances Maintain strong accounting controls and ensure GAAP compliance Assist with external audits, tax requirements and regulatory reporting Identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes Work cross-functionally throughout the organization Lead special initiatives, including accounting automation projects

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus 5+ years of progressive accounting experience At least 2 years of supervisory experience Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team ERP system experience preferred Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills Process-improvement mindset and desire to continue growing professionally Hauppauge, NY | On-Site | 8:30 AM-5:00
