3+ months Position Overview We are currently seeking candidates for an Interim Controller position. The role is with a well-established industrial manufacturing company based in Maspeth, NY 11378. The Interim Controller will oversee the day-to-day accounting function, ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and partner closely with executive leadership on key financial initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Controller who enjoys stepping into complex environments, improving processes, and making an immediate impact. Responsibilities Lead all accounting and finance operations, including the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes. Oversee the general ledger, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and journal entries. Manage cash flow, forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis. Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements. Evaluate and strengthen accounting processes and internal controls. Partner with executive leadership to provide financial insights and operational support. Manage and mentor the accounting team while providing day-to-day leadership. Support external auditors and coordinate audit-related activities. Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies across the finance organization. Assist with special projects and strategic initiatives as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred. 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience within industrial manufacturing Industrial Manufacturing & Import/Export experience (REQUIRED) Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls. Proven ability to lead accounting teams through periods of change. Hands-on leadership style with the ability to balance strategic thinking and day-to-day execution.
