We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Cincinnati, Ohio on a Contract basis. This role will oversee core accounting operations, strengthen the accuracy of financial reporting, and support a disciplined month-end close process. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger management, and the preparation of financial statements, along with a practical approach to improving accounting workflows.

Responsibilities:

Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate accounting results. Prepare comprehensive financial reporting packages and formal financial statements for leadership review. Perform and oversee detailed balance sheet reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and maintaining strong account integrity. Manage general ledger activity and verify that transactions are recorded in accordance with accounting standards and company policies. Support audit readiness by organizing schedules, documentation, and supporting analysis for external review. Identify and implement improvements that streamline month-end reporting and account reconciliation processes. Provide accounting guidance and hands-on support related to financial controls, reporting accuracy, and close procedures. Contribute to work associated with the Sage Intacct environment as needed to support accounting operations and reporting effectiveness. Proven experience serving in a Controller or senior-level accounting leadership role. Strong background in financial reporting, including preparation of reporting packages and financial statements. Advanced knowledge of balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger oversight. Demonstrated success managing month-end close activities in a deadline-driven environment. Experience supporting audit preparation and coordinating required documentation. Track record of improving accounting processes and reporting workflows. Familiarity with Sage Intacct is preferred. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
