Job Description
Description We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Controller to join our team in Wadsworth, Ohio. This role is instrumental in overseeing the daily operations of the Accounting and Finance department while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial processes. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a knack for mentoring teams and driving efficiency in financial reporting and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual operations of the Accounting and Finance department, ensuring smooth processes and accurate reporting.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and development to a team of five accounting professionals.
- Implement cost accounting practices to enhance financial analysis and decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with the Extended Leadership Team to create meaningful reports that support timely business decisions.
- Partner with the Financial Planning and Analysis team to lead budgeting and forecasting cycles, including developing financial models and variance reports.
- Manage financial close processes, issuing consolidated financial reporting packages and variance analyses on a monthly basis.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the General Ledger, fixed asset system, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Oversee annual audits and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax requirements, coordinating with third-party services as needed.
- Develop and maintain cash reporting systems and rolling cash flow forecasting tools.
- Optimize Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes to meet company Net Working Capital goals. Requirements
- Extensive experience with month-end close processes and financial reporting.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger maintenance and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Proven track record in managing financial statement audits and ensuring compliance.
- Proficiency in developing financial models and variance analysis.
- Hands-on experience in cost accounting and implementing effective accounting practices.
- Ability to lead and mentor teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with tax compliance and managing annual audits.
