Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Controller to join a $1B+ nationally recognized industry leader. Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will lead a team of eight accounting professionals and oversee the company's core accounting and financial reporting functions. Key Responsibilities:
Lead, develop, and mentor a team of 8 accounting professionals. Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. Oversee general ledger accounting, reconciliations, fixed assets, AP, AR, and other accounting activities. Maintain and continuously improve internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures. Partner directly with the CFO on financial reporting, analysis, and key business initiatives. Provide financial insight and support to senior leadership and operational teams. Identify opportunities to improve processes, automate workflows, and enhance reporting. Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with external auditors. Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning activities. Ensure the accounting infrastructure and processes continue to scale with the organization. Participate in strategic initiatives and special projects alongside executive leadership.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibility. Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, and internal controls. Demonstrated experience leading and developing accounting professionals. CPA preferred but not required. Strong ERP and financial systems experience. Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills. Ability to operate at a strategic level while remaining comfortable getting into the details when needed.
