We are seeking an experienced Controller to join our leadership team and help drive the financial success of our organization. Position Summary The Controller is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations of the company and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. This position manages the accounting team, maintains internal controls, oversees monthly and year-end close processes, supports operational decision-making through financial analysis, and partners closely with the Chief Financial Officer on strategic initiatives. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional with experience in manufacturing or food processing who enjoys improving processes, leading teams, and working closely with operations. Responsibilities

• Manage all daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, and fixed assets.
• Supervise and develop accounting staff.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Lead the monthly close process.
• Maintain and improve internal controls.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
• Oversee inventory accounting and manufacturing cost accounting.
• Analyze production costs, labor, overhead, yields, and inventory variances.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Coordinate annual tax preparation with external CPA firms.
• Support lender reporting and borrowing base reporting.
• Track capital expenditures and fixed assets.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations.
• Partner with operations leadership on KPI reporting and profitability.
• Improve accounting processes through automation.
• Perform other duties assigned by the CFO. Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA or CMA preferred.
• Five or more years of progressive accounting experience.
• Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or Senior Accountant experience preferred.
• Manufacturing, food processing, or poultry industry experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Experience with inventory accounting and cost accounting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP/accounting software.
