Work Shift 1 - First Shift Job Summary The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis VMVS leads and coordinates financial planning and analysis activities as well as digital product integration to support overall company objectives for the Vermeer MV Solutions division. This position drives towards improving current and future profitability for the business, while maintaining alignment with parent company goals and initiatives. This role serves as a key contributor on the leadership team and consults with different departments to accelerate projects that drive sales, manufacturing improvements, strategic alignment, and profitability for the various division facilities. What You'll Do 1. Lead the VMVS division annual business planning, budget development, and execution. 2. Oversee the financial, business systems, and IT Operations across multiple locations. 3. Conduct comprehensive financial SWOT analysis on financial performance by evaluating profitability of customers, products, and markets. Proactively communicate as a member of the leadership team to recommend profit improvement or cost reduction strategies, including the analysis of possible alliances for all locations. 4. Coordinate month-end close activities within the team to meet plant specific and corporate timelines. 5. Benchmark financials internally and externally and initiate recommendations to improve return on capital employed (ROCE). Provide leadership with detailed monthly financial results, observations, and opportunities for both short & long-term projects. 6. Determine best practices to meet objectives and maintain accounting controls. This would include utilizing a continuous improvement approach to optimize personnel time and systems while improving response time to business needs. 7. Lead the effort with manufacturing to conduct an annual physical inventory. Manage and reconcile physical inventory to ensure proper accounting and valuation of inventory on hand. 8. Manage the productivity and operational performance to ensure appropriate costing and analyses is complete to help the team make appropriate decisions to impact the gross margin. 9. Collaborate and connect with corporate finance to expand knowledge across the business. 10. Integrating digital products, business systems and services to ensure seamless interaction between different digital tools and platforms. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree with a major in finance and/or accounting. Minimum of ten years of experience in financial/cost accounting; prior experience in a manufacturing environment or in public accounting preferred; and/or equivalent, education and experience, required. Embrace lean principles that foster open dialogue with team members on the floor which leads to direct integration of financial attributes throughout the business. Advanced knowledge of business systems, excels, and charting. Knowledge in the area(s) of accounting and lean financial processes. Ability to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task to develop and produce accurate, professional and error free documents on a timely basis. Ability to develop productivity performance measures with department specific detail. Ability to provide informative and professional assistance when working with the public/customers and coworkers and maintain positive interpersonal relationships which encourage openness. Demonstration of excellent verbal and written communication skills with the flexibility and ability to work with several areas and levels within the company. Ability to work with the numerous reports/documents containing confidential information. CPA or CMA preferred. Travel Occasional travel is expected of this position.
