Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join a retail organization in Coppell, Texas on a 4 month Contract basis. This position will provide critical accounting leadership and hands-on support during a busy period, with a strong emphasis on close activities, financial accuracy, and timely reporting. The ideal candidate brings deep accounting expertise, works effectively with minimal supervision, and thrives in a fast-moving environment where precision and follow-through are essential.
Responsibilities:
  • Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities to help ensure complete and timely financial results.
  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries while maintaining accurate general ledger records and supporting documentation.
  • Complete detailed account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies by researching underlying transactions and balances.
  • Assist in producing financial statements and internal management reporting packages for leadership review.
  • Evaluate account fluctuations and investigate variances to strengthen the accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Partner with the Director of Accounting and business teams on priority accounting projects and operational initiatives.
  • Support internal and external audit requests by organizing schedules, documentation, and responses to inquiries.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, controls, and reporting efficiency in a dynamic environment.
