Job Description

Job Summary GBMC is a family-owned, vertically integrated real estate development and construction company based in New Braunfels, TX. The company is seeking a Controller to own the accounting function end to end. This is a hands-on position. The Controller performs the bookkeeping and data entry directly, including payment processing, invoice entry, and account reconciliations, in addition to running the month-end close and producing financial statements. The Controller is accountable for the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the company's financial records and reporting. Responsibilities Hands-On Bookkeeping & Payments Perform full-cycle bookkeeping and data entry: accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger Process subcontractor and vendor payments, including lien waivers and retainage Reconcile bank and credit card accounts across all entities Process payroll and related filings Construction Accounting & Draws Prepare and submit construction draw requests to lenders, with full supporting documentation Maintain job cost ledgers; code costs to projects, phases, and cost codes Track budget vs. actual by project and flag variances to project management Loan & Debt Administration Administer construction and term loans: interest calculations, accruals, and repayment schedules Track loan balances, maturities, and covenants across projects and entities Multi-Entity & Intercompany Maintain books for multiple related entities within the company family Record and reconcile intercompany transactions, transfers, and allocations Reporting & Close Own the month-end close and produce financial statements by entity and consolidated Support annual tax preparation with the outside CPA; assist with lender and investor reporting Qualifications 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience, including hands-on bookkeeping and data entry 2+ years in construction or real estate development accounting Experience preparing and submitting construction draws Experience maintaining books for multiple related entities, including intercompany activity Proficient in QuickBooks (or comparable) and advanced
Excel Pay:
From $75,000.00 per year
