Listed within this posting is the anticipated salary range for this position, plus variable incentive compensation. THE OPPORTUNITY
Support the Commercial Business Team during the summer of 2027. This position is for individuals currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing career opportunities in Risk and Insurance Management or related field.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Support Underwriting through the performance of specific tasks
  • including, but not limited to underwriting of new business files, processing policy changes, and review of supplemental information (loss runs, MVR's, financial data, inspections, etc.
) Receive hands-on training in a variety of areas including Harford Mutual appetite, target classes, underwriting processes, systems, and general insurance knowledge Collaborate with other intern(s) to create and present a project on a to-be-determined underwriting topic to senior management
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Risk and Insurance Management or related field.

Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills Resourceful/Problem Solver Strong collaborating skills, and an ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines; high energy, self-motivated and proactive
