Job Description

MauiFed is seeking a full-time Financial Specialist to join our team. Help us to meet our mission towards building financial relationships with members to enhance their future and support our vision to inspire members to think of MauiFed first for all their financial services. Job Description Guided by our tagline, "Making it happen," the Financial Specialist is responsible for a variety of tasks including: providing exceptional member service, processing member transactions accurately and efficiently, helping resolve member concerns in a timely manner, identifying Credit Union products and services that will help to improve the financial lives of our members and processing and servicing of our loan products. Key duties include assisting in all operational activities, assisting in all lending activities from origination to closing, ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant, and providing professional communication to members throughout the loan process. The Financial Specialist must clear all pre-funding conditions, disburse funds accurately, and manage post-closing tasks and collateral research. The successful candidate is expected to be a detail-oriented team player who takes pride in accuracy and enjoys helping our members achieve their financial goals.
Responsibilities Member Service :
Provide professional, friendly service while accurately and efficiently processing member transactions.
Member Service Support :
Assist with other operational activities like new account opening and processing, wire facilitation, IRA account opening and processing, and more.
Problem Solving:
Assist members with inquiries and resolve concerns in a timely, professional manner
Financial Relationship Building :
Identify and recommend Credit Union products and services that align with the member's financial needs.
Accountability :
Maintain and balance a cash drawer and adhere to all internal security and balancing procedures.
Lending Support:
Assist in all activities related to the origination, underwriting, documentation, closing, and servicing of consumer and home equity loans.
Loan Servicing:
Complete all post-closing forms and handle member requests that arise throughout the course of servicing the loan.
Collateral Management:
Research requests for the release of collateral, secure necessary signatures, and obtain approvals for appropriate action.
Back Office Support :
Perform assigned administrative duties and assist the branch and loan teams as needed
Compliance:
Comply with and adhere to Credit Union policies and procedures as well as legal and regulatory requirements. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of experience in loan processing or financial services preferred. Knowledge of Consumer Lending and Home Equity (HELOC) procedures. Ability to obtain and maintain NMLS registration. Skills and Abilities Professional appearance, courteous manner, and positive attitude. Exceptional time management, communication, and member service skills. High level of accountability, efficiency, and accuracy in handling financial documents. Basic math and computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office and loan origination software. Ability to handle all confidential matters professionally, maintaining the privacy of our member's information with integrity. Strong understanding of the Maui community and the local financial landscape.
