Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students' growth and development as a dedicated Occupational Therapist for the upcoming school year. This position is conveniently situated near Cicero, IL, providing a full-time commitment of 37.5 hours per week, from August 12, 2026, through May 21, 2027. The daily schedule runs Monday through Friday, 7:30 am-3:00 pm, with a 30-minute duty-free lunch break. As an Occupational Therapist working across a cooperative, you'll collaborate with a supportive network to meet the diverse needs of students from 9th grade through the transition years. Your expertise will enhance students' fine and gross motor skills, maximize their independence, and enrich their school experience.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Illinois Occupational Therapist license for the 2026/2027 school year. Experience working in schools, home health, and healthcare settings as an OT. Strong background in supporting fine motor and gross motor skill development. Previous experience with high school or transition-aged students preferred. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans for students. Provide individualized and group OT services to address motor skills and adaptive functioning. Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to integrate therapeutic strategies into daily routines. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with school and state guidelines. Travel within the cooperative as needed to serve students at multiple sites. Actively participate in IEP meetings and contribute to educational planning.
