Firearms Sales Associate/Range Safety Officer

D5 Ranges Marengo is seeking a Firearms Sales Associate / Range Safety Officer to provide top notch customer service while maintaining our Sales / Range counters and Shooting Range. To succeed in this role, you will need to have a friendly disposition, enjoy helping others, have an eye for detail and an interest in firearms. The ideal candidate will need previous retail experience, excellent communication skills and strong customer service skills. We are looking for someone who is capable of performing tasks independently as well as working as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

Establish and maintain effective business relationships with customers by being friendly and making each customer feel welcome. Assist customers in an un-biased manor, respond to customer inquiries and requests, demonstrate products, identify and evaluate each customers individual needs, and effectively close sales. Keep store organized and merchandise stocked and well-displayed. Maintain safety and order of shooters on range. Maintain cleanliness and operation of range. Complete the sale of firearms legally and in compliance with both the ATF and State and Local Laws and Regulations.

Includes:

obtaining current and valid customer identification, insuring 4473 Form is complete and accurate, perform required background checks, identify and comply with waiting periods, and verify the legality of all incoming transfers. Comprehend business-related information quickly and accurately, including to continue to obtain knowledge of current affairs, laws, and regulations as related to the industry in order to provide accurate and informed customer service. Daily light housekeeping including but not limited to: vacuuming area rugs, dusting shelves, glass counter tops and products, maintaining bathroom cleanliness and any other cleaning needed to maintain a safe and clean working environment. Must be reliable and have excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

Requirements:

Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid Firearm Owner's Identification Card (FOID) Range Safety Officer Certification preferred but not required 1-2 years experience in customer service 1-2 years experience in firearms sales preferred but not required Must have flexibility in work schedule to include evenings and weekends
